The People of YES

Shannon Smith Bio

Shannon Smith (Virgo) grew up in the small town of Candor, New York.  She received her degree in Philosophy from Binghamton University in December of 2015 and started working at YES Safe Choices in August of 2016. When she’s not in the office working with Preston, you can find Shannon playing the ukulele, hanging out with friends or going for a power walk.

If she ever finds herself in the position of being a multi-billionaire, Shannon will pay off her student loans, travel the world, and buy her parents their dream cars.

Laura Senande - Prevention Services Assistant

Laura Senande (Scorpio) grew up in the suburbs of West Harrison, New York. She is currently pursuing a degree in Integrative Neuroscience at SUNY Binghamton and is applying to Occupational Therapy graduate schools for Fall 2017. She began working as a part-time assistant for YES Safe Choices in the winter of 2016. When she isn’t studying or assisting Preston and Shannon, you can find Laura crafting, scuba diving, or watching Netflix.

If she ever finds herself in the position of being a multi-billionaire, Laura will buy Quinn’s pimped out house on the Mediterranean, move to California, and send her parents on their dream cruise through Alaska.

Quinn Hennessy - Prevention Services Assistant

Quinn Hennessy (Taurus) grew up in the suburbs of Rochester, New York. She is currently pursuing a degree in Accounting at SUNY Binghamton and is expected to graduate in May 2017. She began working at YES! Safe Choices for Kids in 2015 as a part time assistant. When she isnt busy assisting Ashley or Preston or in the classroom/library you can find Quinn shopping, eating, or napping.

If she ever finds herself in the position of being a multibillionaire, Quinn will buy a pimped out house on the Mediterranean, travel the African safari,  and probably give some of it back to her parents.

Preston Evans - Program Director

Preston Evans - Program Director

Preston Evans (Cancer) grew up in the suburbs of Allentown, Pennsylvania.  After getting a degree in Political Science from Mansfield University in 2008, he began working for YES! Safe Choices for Kids’ Program Coordinator in the spring of 2009.  When he’s not shaping young minds, you can find him playing guitar, golfing, skiing, listening to music or keeping up with today’s hottest TV shows.

If he ever finds himself in the position of being a multi-billionaire, Preston will most likely blow it all on gadgets and become a real life Bruce Wayne.

Also, you don’t ever want to play The Movie Game with Preston – you’ll lose.
