Quality Time Activities

Most of us would like to spend more time with our kids; but with all the demands on our time- school, work, friends, after-school activities- it may seem like we're constantly driving from activity to activity with no real time to connect with our loved ones.

Each month, the Family Focus section will feature a new activity that you can try out with your kids. These activities are designed to encourage you to spend quality time with your kids and to open up the lines of communication. The activities will also help to reinforce those important character traits and build your child's self-esteem.

April Activity - Peep Houses

Materials:

  • Peeps
  • Graham Crackers
  • Frosting/Icing
  • Newspaper
  • Easter decor (candy eggs, easter grass, etc.)

Directions:

  1. Break 3 whole crackers into halves

  2. Using frosting, glue 3 halves to the “floor” cracker along the edges. Prop if necessary and let dry.

  3. Once dry, glue the “roof” crackers on a slant. This part requires some patience so be sure to hold until dry.

  4. Place a peep in the house and fill with any decor.
